February was a very exciting month for our team! We had horses jumping at the Palm Beach Masters Nation’s Cup event as well as several successful developments over on the WEF show grounds. Coco Fath was part of the winning Young Rider US team during the Palm Beach Masters Nation’s cup riding Exotik Sitte. Coco and Scotty’s consistent rounds helped their team edge out the competition.
Coco and Vidocq de la By also put in some very consistent rounds out on the Derby field at WEF in the U25 division, this pair has their sites set on the upcoming 4* week of WEF also being held on the Derby field. While commuting back and forth from school, Coco has been riding her young horses Gaucho and Harley D in the Medium and Low Amateur divisions respectively.
Coming out of the stable for the first time with Rodrigo this month was Artemis Equestrian Farm’s Carlito’s Way 6. Carlos and RP formed a fast partnership with a win in the 2* division at WEF followed by a third place in the Grand Prix that weekend. Just two weeks later, Venice Beach jumped a magnificent clear round in the $137,000 5* WEF Challenge Cup qualifying Rodrigo for the Grand Prix. Feeling confident that Carlito’s Way was ready for the challenge, Rodrigo moved him up into the 5* ranks for the first time in his career. Carlos jumped a brilliant round finishing with just one down for 7th place over a very demanding course.
Olivia Weeks and Apollo Mission also made their debut in February! They have jumped some very consistent rounds highlighted by a 4th place finish in last week’s Low Adult Classic. My Jewel’s Magic Touch has moved up to the 1.40 division and has continued to improve steadily. Our young stallion Ze Carioca moved up into the 1.45 FEI division and has been consistently jumping clear rounds and finishing in the ribbons. HH Fireball also came home in the ribbons of the High AO Classic last week after a clear first round.
Last but certainly not least, Sophia Pessoa was champion twice in the Walk/Trot/Jump division during the month of February. Sophia and Anderin’s Pick Pocket have been gaining confidence together and are always a wonderful way to cap off the show week. Thank you to Erin Stewart and Sarah Doyle for all of your help.
