The beginning of the season always seems to go by in a flash! We spent early January getting the staff, stable and horses all back into the swing of things. Between new horses and team members there was a lot to catch up on.
Coco Fath was able to spend a few weeks down in Florida with us before school started again. This season she has two new horses in her string that are coming along nicely! Coco is spending the winter going back and forth from school but was still able to compete at a high level this month. Next month she has been selected to represent the US at the Palm Beach Masters Young Rider Nation’s Cup event!
Our younger horses Magic and Ze Carioca spent the month getting back into shape after a nice end of the year holiday. They are back in the show ring and looking to move up into the 1.40 and 1.45 divisions respectively.
We are also so excited to have met Krystina Carlton (above) and her mare Ekarla who have been working with Rodrigo this season. Krystina has quickly become a valued member of our team and has progressed nicely with Ekarla in the Medium AO division!
Alexa’s horses started back up well at the end of the month at the Palm Beach Masters. Jordan and Fireball both produced nice clear rounds and finished in the money.
The squad from Artemis Equestrian, which has expanded to include six horses in addition to Venice Beach and Quality FZ, has had a very productive month both in the ring and at home in the stable. Rodrigo is getting to know new ride Carlito’s Way at the 2* level and has made nice progress. Venice Beach took January by storm with a 4th place finish in the WEF Challenge Cup week 2 followed by a time fault performance resulting in a 7th place finish in the Grand Prix. The Palm Beach Masters 4* World Cup Show resulted in a third place finish day one in the Suncast Welcome Stake, a forth place finish in the NetJets Speed Challenge and finally a very close third place finish in the Turkish Airlines 1.50 Classic. What a mare!
Quality FZ started back at the end of the month at the Palm Beach Masters. His strong showing has everyone looking forward to a great season ahead! We are thankful to have such wonderful owners, students, staff and especially horses heading into 2020!
